New light shed upon Yellow Saturday protest

According to Malaysia's internationally well-known alternative media operator Raja Petra Kamarudin (above) of Malaysia Today, Wan Mohd Safiain Wan Hasan, the Malaysian palace official who called a public media conference yesterday and denied that the King had given royal consent to last Saturday's mammoth public protest rally in downtown Kuala Lumpur, is "a member of Umno" and the serial numbers of Wan Mohd Safiain Wan Hasan's personal identity and party membership are reportedly said to be 461214035359 and 03728983 respectively. The immensely popular Raja Petra Kamaruddin is himself a nephew of the Sultan of Selangor and said to be a close friend of the young King.

Meanwhile, the organiser of the massive protest Bersih has issued a statement denying that its was involved in circulating the claim that the King had approved of the gathering last Saturday in Kuala Lumpur which saw another palace official receiving the protest memorantum handed over to the King by opposition leaders.

King Mizan Zainal Abidin, 45, is the 13th Sultan of Trengganu state and 16th Yang di-Pertua Agong of Malaysia installed on 26 April this year.
