Simon Schama' s 'A History of Britain' in DVDs

Beng Ching also brought back for his daughter from his recent book-shopping tour a set of DVDs featuring historian and also broadcaster Simon Schma's widely acclaimed A History of Britain which was first shown as a documentary on BBC from 30 Sept 2000 to 18 June 2002. The last book on British history I read was The Rise And Fall Of The British Empire (London, Abacus, 2004) authored by Lawrence James.

Simon Schama's "A History of Britain" is an excellent primer for laymen.
I bought the set of 3 supporting books on a trip to Hong Kong last year - At the Edge of the World, The British Wars and
The Fate of Empire.

But I never got to watch either the TV or DVD show.
I haven't been reading much last couple of weeks. The live reality show going on in Malaysia is too distracting.

I'm deeply worried about what's going to happen to the country - right in the middle of an international economic crisis.

Everyone is deeply worried about what is going on in Malaysia where the Umnoputra is fighting against a changed world. But I think fellow citizens, especially youths, are empowered with true knowledge (not propaganda churned out by Biro Tata Negara) so that they can survived and prosper as smart citizens.
