Mother was obviously very happy to have me having home-cooked dinner (absolutely Ajinomoto-free) with her last evening in Ipoh. Next year, the Batu Gajah-born village girl will celebrate her 80th birthday with the very proud achivements that five out of her six children received university education without the benefits of government scholarship and that none has ever joined M.C.A. Mother Boleh !

if you have joined MCA, probably you be Minister of Transport by now. and the scandal in PKA wouldnt have happened, no?
Anyway, way to go Perakian for if you have joined the MOst Corrupted Association, your life would be tainted by now.

MCA...heheheh..with your talents you would have been a big star in the establishment by now. MCA is full of fat businessmen, but very short of intellectual weight.

Prof. Khoo is getting a bit senile by now, they need a replacement for him very soon, you know...

Just kidding, its a lazy Sunday afternoon...

Off topic, NST today has a broadsheet pull-out duplicate copy of The Straits Times of exactly 50 years ago. On the last page, sports section there is this news heading which goes like this, "MCA may run 'pool' to boost funds". Guess what MCA also stands for back then?

It's not a secret covered under OSA that in its early years, MCA sold lotteries (gambling) to raise political funds for itself AND Umno. The enterprise was later banned by the Brits.
