Stereotyping not conducive to national unity

From my own daily reading of Chinese-language newspapers and also online publications, the opposition to legalising sports betting in the Chinese community is quite strong . Although I am not a statistician, my own political instinct as a Ipoh street boy and ex - MP for Kampar has told me that the sentiment of decent folks should not be ignored. Creating and perperuating stereotype of any ethnic group or cultural community with negative traits or behaviours is absolutely not right. In a multi-ethnic society like Malaysia, stereotyping is not conducive to national unity as it breeds communal mistrust and social discords.
