Obama: US must renew fight against Al Qaeda

President Obama has just reportedly said that the United States must renew the fight against Al Qaeda which is blamed for the asymetrical and highly coordinated attacks in Washington DC and New York on 11 September, 2001. The attacks prompted former president George W. Bush to launch the USA-led war in Afghanistan to dislodge the Taliban regime that harboured Al Qaeda and also its leader Osama bin Laden. Recently, Obama reiterated that the on-going war in Afghanistan is a "war of necessity" but indecision in Washington DC on the operational request for more American troops "to do the job" is still very evident.
