My first book
In August 2001, I published my first book Psychology for an Open Society (Kuala Lumpur, Dataran Sejaterah) which is a compilation of some of my columns written for the leading Chinese-language daily Sin Chew Jit Poh. Those writings are essentially concerned with social psychology with reformasi as the then prevailing backdrop.
It explores the roles and functions of propaganda in politics, public fear and anxiety, paranoia, xenophobia, delusion of persecution, groupthink, stereotypes and conformism, etc. It hopes to open up the hearts and minds of Malaysians for political, social and intellectual progress.
