Socialist conference in Hindu Kingdom

In 1993, I visited Nepal, a Hindu Kingdom which is said to be the birthplace of Buddha. Nepal is also well known for being the home country of the Gurkhas. I stayed in its capital Kathmandu for a few days.

I was there to attend the an International Union of Socialist Youth (IUSY) conference sponsored by a German social-democratic foundation Friedrich Elbert Stiftung. I spoke not only in the conference itself but also in a seminar organised by the Tribhuvan University.
