By allowing Karen Armstrong to give public lecture in Kuala Lumpur while maintaining the official ban of her books is really a strange decision. What is even more strange is that while Karen Armstrong's books are still being officially banned, those authored by Professor Bernard Lewis (pix above) are not. Are Lewis' ideas on Islam and Middle Eastern affairs more compatible or in line with PM Abdullah's Islam Hadhari than those of Armstrong? If the answer is affirmative, why then has nobody in political power or with advisorial influence ever thought of inviting Lewis to Malaysia to give talks to the public ?
