Interesting bit of news about the China loan for the 2nd Penang Bridge - quite amazing how things have changed.

My late grandfather used to send money to his relatives in China - there was no real banking link between the two countries in those days, but somehow money paid to a certain contact in Malaysia was paid out to his sister in his original village in China, minus handling fees, of course. And it honestly worked - I never heard of the payments going missing.

So now we are borrowing money from China - interesting.

When I saw former Special Branch chief Yuan Yuet Ling at the launch of Dr. Kua Kia Soong's book, I forgot to ask him to BANISH me to China for next year's Olympic.
