The sheer numbers of people travelling during the National Day "Golden Week" in China always amazes me, after personally observing the event in 2002. Airports, trains, buses all packed. Its only rivalled by the Chinese New Year rush home.
Its quite orderly and well managed, too.
the mere sight of the sheer number of moving crowd at the shanghai railway station was quite an experience for me.
