Russia remembers Tereshkova's great mission

Yesterday, Russia honoured Valentina Tereshkova,'the first woman in human history who was blasted into space alone for'3 days in 1963.'In 1961, Yuri Gagarin, from the USSR, became the first person in space. Earlier in 1924, a Society for Studies of Interplanetary Travel was set up'in Moscow for scientists to discuss plans for space exploration and to educate the people, 'especially youths, on scientific ideas of space.
