65th anniversary of Indonesian republicanism

This year also marks the 65 th anniversary of the Proclamation of the Republic of Indonesia, an ex-colony of Holland, which is now the most populous Muslims-majority country on earth and the land of ancestral origin as well as a source of cultural inspiration of Malays in Malaysia. Other Muslims- majority republics include Pakistan, Bangladesh, Iran, Iraq, Turkey, Egypt, Khazakhstan, Uzbekistan and also Turkmenistan.
