'Nancy' as Chairman Mao's interpreter in 1972

The normalisation of bilateral relations between New China and the United States in February 1972 was a world-historic event and the US-born 'Nancy' Tang (second from left above/left-behind Nixon) played her crucial role as the language bridge between Chairman Mao and Premier Zhou on one side and President Nixon and National Security Adviser Dr. Kissinger on the other.
