Meeting Chin Peng face to face

In early 1998, a senior colleague and I queitly left Kuala Lumpur for Haadyai. Our 'secret' mission was to meet Chin Peng and build up mutual confidence so that an exclusive interview could be conducted later with a larger delegation of writers and editors of Sin Chew Jit Poh.

We finally met the legendary secretary-general of the Communist Party of Malaya (CPM) in a hotel in Haadyai for the first time in our lives.
