Remembering father ...
This personal blog is dedicated to the loving memory of my dear father Wong Keng Fai (1924-1985) whose own youthful hope of furthering his education in China was forever destroyed by Japanese invasion of the Mainland and its subsequent 44-month occupation of Malaya, and who had nevertheless raised up six children in the Ipoh coffee shop at No.24, Clare Street, to be highly educated and socially responsible citizens of Malaysia.
It is also dedicated to the memory of all those brave men and women - Malays, Chinese, Indians, Orang Asli and Eurasians - who endured barbaric tortures and sacrificed their lives for the liberation of this beloved land of ours, especially my beautiful hometown Ipoh, from fascism and colonialism.
May you all rest in peace forever
