A turning point in history

Not too long after I came back from Bali, 9/11 happened in Washington D.C. and New York. It shocked me.

After thinking deep and hard for a few days, I came to the conclusion that the attacks were crimes against humanity because the attackers intentionally targeted their lethal forces against innocent and unarmed civilians, including women and children, without any specific declaration of war or offer for peace negotiation. At the same time, I also realised that the post-Cold War triumphalism and euphoria was over.
