Bridge controversy: which side Zam takes ?

Many people are still confused with regard to the sudden U-turn of the government's decision on the "crooked" or "scenic" bridge and the rationales behind the decision. So, could Information Minister Zainuddin Maidin kindly declare a public stand whether he supports the decision of PM Abdullah Ahmad Badawi to cancel the construction or the position of ex-PM Dr. Mahathir Mohamad apparently regretting the cancellation.

As a full minister (no more journalist or commentator), Zam certainly cannot simultaneously serve two political masters who seem to be in disagreement over a major issue by keeping quiet. Otherwise, both the pro-Singapore and anti-Singapore camps may separately but simultaneously suspect Zam as opposite camp's agent in place infiltrated into their own camp.

Was Zam promoted as a full minister because Pak Lah was "passively and helplessly" under pressure by Dr.Mahathir's camp to accomodate their interest and value in the Cabinet through Zam? Or, it is because a smarter-than-you-think Pak Lah wants to 'play back' a personally opportunistic and ambitious Zam to spy on the intentions, capacities and strategies of the networks of his previous master and old 'friends' in the media at close range ?
