Delhi vows to ensure safe Christmas in Orissa

India's new Home Minister P. Chidambaram has just been reported as saying that the the central government in Delhi will ensure the safety of Christians in Orissa in the upcoming celebration of Jesus' birthday. Christians constitute about 2.3 % of India' s huge population, and the number is reportedly growing fast among the dalits and tribal people.
