Truly new experience ...

In 2003, two very memorable events happened in my personal life.

On 24 April, I was invited to board the US aircraft carrier USS Kitty Hawk for a visit. It was then sailing somewhere in the waters of the Bay of Bengal and the northern entrance into Straits of Malacca.

Also invited were some media representatives like TV3 and those of other institutions. I was invited as a VIP representing nobody but only myself as a former MP and public figure who are seen to know a little bit about military and strategic affairs.

We were brought there in an US Air Force aircraft taking off from RMAF's Subang Airbase.
