A sense of proportion & reality for Noh Omar

I started to interest myself in political affairs, both domestic and international, at a very young age when the daily news headlines in the 1970s were full of items from Vietnam, Middle East and China. Knowing my intellectual tendency, an aunt of mine, who was herself only semi-literate, bought me a world map for my 12th birthday present.

After growing up, whenever I write serious articles or speeches on, or touching on, international relations or politics, I always go home to do it on my table facing a wall which hangs a huge world map.
