Dialogue with Suriani

Although Suriani's full memoirs have not been published, a booklet containing interviews with her provides glimpses into her life and philosophy of life.

Titled Serikandi Suriani Abdullah (Kuala Lumpur, SIRD, 2005) is published in Bahasa Malaysia.

The former student of Setiawan's Chinese Nan Hwa School and Ipoh's English Methodist Girls' School (MGS) learnt her Bahasa Malayu from Indonesian communist Sutan Jenain in 1946-1948. She was also invited in 1947 to speak at Indonesia's Madiun University and Radio Republik Indonesia. She met President Sukarno while in the newly independent Indonesia.
