Pak Rashid then joins in

The more famous and equally legandary Rashid Maidin later joined in.

He did not live in Ban Chulabhorn 12. He said he decided to come because he wanted to meet up this Budak Perak for a chat and to advice him not to smoke so much. Pak Rashid, originally a qualified electrical chargeman working in tin-mining dredges in Batu Gajah-Tanjong Tualang, joined the Communist Party of Malaya not too long before the Japanese invasion began on 8 December 1941.

He has just published his memoirs Daripada Perjuangan Bersenjata Kepada Perdamaian (Kuala Lumpur, SIRD, 2005). Plans have already been made to have Pak Rashid's memoirs translated into both Chinese and English.
