Blizzards hit Britain while China battles snow

While millions of people in mainland China are battling the rare snow storms as the Chinese New Year approaches, gales and blizzards also reportedly hit Britain causing, among other havocs, the interruption to the electricity suppy to thousands of homes and hazards to traffic. 306,000 soldiers of the People's Liberation Army (PLA) in China have been mobilised to combat the effects of snow and protect the people.
